Telemed USA
This service connects US patients with licensed medical practitioners for videoconference consultations. After signing up for a slot on the practitioners calendar you can have a live video conference for a number of medical conditions and questions. No medications are prescribed but triage advice and recommendations are given. This allows medical advice without the need for travel or inconvenience of having to go to a doctor's office for a help.
TelemedAfrica
As non-profit service, video-consultations are provided for medical advice for patients in developing countries who need 2nd opinions or are contemplating travel to the US for medical care . We can provide a consultation on the need or opportunities which may be helpful before the expense of travel is undertaken. Volunteer consultations with medical specialists may be utilized to give opinions on the best way to proceed.
Creating Medical Volunteer Opportunities
TelemedAfrica was created as a way to provide medical access for complex medical situations where medical expertise is needed which is out of the patient's access. It was created as a by product of the founder's passion for creating a place where medical innovation and contribution can be provided by volunteer medical professionals. This provides a platform where professionals with limited time who want to volunteer can do so at their leisure.
It also creates an environment where those without resources or proximity may have access to world class advice and input into their situation.
Babarinde Fadirepo, MD
Dr. Fadirepo is a Family Medicine trained graduate of Duke University Family Medicine residency program, and has been practicing for 13 years in a number of practice settings. He has a passion for providing access to those who may not otherwise have good medical care.
He created this site as a way for the world and Africa in particular to have access to the insight of medical professionals based in the US and around the world.
His passion comes from a personal tragedy where timely medical access and care may have saved his 12 year old brother, but was not available in Nigeria due to limited resources and expertise.
It is his hope that this site will develop and become a source of hope for millions who may not have found an answer to their medical situation without the advice and access provided here.
In order to fund this endeavor and provide other services, the site serves as access to medical professionals through video conferencing for a variety of urgent and preventative questions and advice for a time based fee.
